Can I come train?
Yes. We are open and everyone is welcome! You don't need to ask. Drop-ins, free trials, introduction lessons and new members are all welcome!

When can I come train?
If it's your first time training, or you haven't trained a whole lot, come in for an Introduction Lessons (they're on the schedule) to get started!
If you've trained before, come to whichever classes you like! Almost all the classes are all-levels.
Pro Training is a training session, and not a class. If you're a blue belt or higher, you're welcome to come by for Pro Training. For Pro, arrive on time and plan on staying the entire practice. The rule is, if you sit out a round, you're done for the day.

Where are you located?
We are on 14th street, between 6th and 7th, in the basement of Pratt. Door should be Stair Door A, there's a bell to ring that should have a Unity sticker by it. If all else fails, give us a call at 917-409-5550 and we will help you!

When are your classes?
The Interactive Schedule on this page is accurate! Feel free to use the interactive class schedule to set up a profile and reserve yourself for Introduction Lessons, Free Trials, Drop Ins, whatever you'd like! Feel free to email us at [email protected] if there's anything you need.
*We are aware that the captcha is glitching out, and are trying to get the company to fix it. In the meantime, just show up! Come on in and the desk staff will get you set up to train. Thank you!

How much does it cost to drop in?
Everyone's first day is free if they're coming from the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area! This includes an Introduction Lesson if you're new to Jiu Jitsu.
Drop-ins for repeat visitors or those visiting from out of the area are $40/day during the week, $25/day on weekends, or $100 for any seven consecutive days. These are all for unlimited training!

How much are your memberships?
This isn't a question we can really know the answer to until you come in, sit down with someone at the desk, and they go through all the options and discounts and different deals we've got going on. It isn't that it's super complicated, it's just that we do our best to give you the best rate we can, and trying to figure it all out via email or phone isn't good for anyone.
We aren't trying to get you in so we can hard sell you or anything. We really aren't very good sales people, we just love Jiu Jitsu, and if you love Jiu Jitsu, and want to train with us, we will do our best to give you options to make that happen. If coming by for a free day of training in order to get the memberships prices is a dealbreaker for you, we probably aren't the gym for you. And that's fine, there are lots of gyms in the city, and you're still welcome to visit us whenever you like.

What should I expect during my first day?
Upon arrival, you'll want to check in at the desk to make sure they have all your necessary info, that your waiver and other documents are signed, and any drop-in fees are paid. They can answer any other questions you might have, and get you signed in for whichever classes you want to take. A few things to know: shoes are required everywhere that doesn't have a mat, so bringing flip flops is a good idea. We have drinks and soap and towels for sale, but you're always welcome to bring your own. If you don't have a gi, don't worry - you either won't need one, or you can rent one from us for $10. Anything else, we can figure out when you're here! Just come train.

What are Gi/No Gi classes?
These are mixed classes, and it's your preference if you want to train with the gi or without the gi. The instructor will adjust the lesson as needed.

Is Pro gi or no gi?
Bring both. If you don't have a gi, we can rent you one, or people can take off their gi top to roll with you, or you might get lucky and everybody is rolling no gi that day. But you should always just bring both when visiting Pro.

What sort of Program do you have for Beginners?
Our new Beginner's Program is pretty awesome - unlimited opportunities to spar, though you never have to. We do it as a 3-month program to get you going, with a bunch of cool stuff like discounted private lessons and a free 30min private lesson. Come in for more info, but if you're a beginner, it's a pretty great deal!

What is an Introduction Lesson?
It's usually about a 40-min private or semi-private lesson that is offered for anyone just starting out, or anyone who wants to make sure there aren't any holes in their fundamental knowledge of Jiu Jitsu. You'll go over the basic positions, submissions, how to train safely, and you'll have an opportunity to spar a little bit so that you know what you're getting into with a regular class! It should give you a framework so that whatever you're learning in class after the Intro, you'll know what the move is for and why it's important. It's also a great opportunity to ask questions about Jiu Jitsu in general, classes, and Unity specifically.

What age can you start training? Am I considered a kid or an adult?
We welcome anyone 4-14 years old to the kids classes. Kids are always free on their first Saturday! Drop-ins for kids are $35/day after that. Depending on their size, kids may be able to attend the adult classes.
Anyone over 14 should just come to adult classes, we have plenty of smaller adults and are more than happy to have them!

Can I get a discount on my membership?
We offer discounts on memberships for friends of members, students, women, military, FDNY, law enforcement, and EMT. Groups and Family discounts are also available. Referral discounts can be applied anytime, so if you sign up, then bring friends who sign up, you get a discount for inviting them and they get a discount for knowing you. All discounts are good for the lifetime of your membership!

What should I wear to class?
If you plan on wearing leggings/spats, please know that you will be required to wear shorts or pants over them. Otherwise, wear your gear! We only ask that your gi/patches/etc don’t display any offensive language or images. Please also be clean. We have gi's to rent if you need one, pending availability. Always a good idea to bring flip flops, as shoes are required anywhere without mats.

Let us know if you have any other questions! Send us an email at [email protected] anytime!
